same deal as the Purplussy, steep your tea with enough space left in the mug to add ice after it cools. something i've found with the dried rose petals is that in the first week of opening the bag, they will make the drink smell really good if you're into the smell of roses - but after that the scent starts to fade and it gets more underwhelming as time goes on. it's not strictly necessary to get rose petals for this (as they tend to get in your mouth while sipping, which can be unpleasant if you're chewing a lot of them at the same time), i mostly just wanted something to make the drink look pretty for the photo haha.
Substitutions: the Epicure brand of tea i'm currently using is no longer available, and their hibiscus tea has the addition of organic turmeric root and natural flavors, so once again i'm not sure how much that is altering the flavor of this drink but i'm assuming the difference in a hibiscus-only tea probably isn't huge, especially since we add all the other stuff to it. just like the Purplussy, you can forego the calorie conscious Sugar-Free sweetener and use two pumps of the rose syrup if you so desire a stronger rose note, or do away with it completely if you're not into roses and only use the Sugar-Free syrup. if you don't want something so sweet you can ditch the syrups altogether, but at that point it's not much of a mocktail and you're just drinking tea... which is totally fine, it's just more fun to me as a mocktail :p
